New Series: Everything Dead & Dying
Everything Dead & Dying is a haunting five-issue miniseries by Eisner Award-nominated creators Tate Brombal (Barbalien, Batgirl) and Jacob Phillips (That Texas Blood, Newburn) with Pip Martin and Artist In Residence Aditya Bidikar. It’s our latest collaboration with Image Comics, and it’s FOCing this weekend.
We’ve worked with Brombal for years over at Dark Horse with The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos, loving every minute of our time together. But this series is something new, something more mature, yet just as emotionally devastating. As Tate said on our Image retailer call yesterday: “It's a zombie story told through a Western lens, where invaders enter a rural town and a lone man is going to defend his loved ones from them... It just so happens that his loved ones are zombies. I promise you've never read a zombie story like this.”
Jack Chandler is the sole survivor of the zombie apocalypse in his rural farming community, but rather than eliminate them, he has chosen to continue living alongside the undead—including the husband and adopted daughter he fought so hard to have. But when his town is discovered by outsiders, Jack suddenly becomes the one thing standing in the way of those who hope to kill his family for good.
Eisner Award-nominated creators TATE BROMBAL (Barbalien, Batgirl) and JACOB PHILLIPS (THAT TEXAS BLOOD, NEWBURN) team up for a haunting rural character piece set during a zombie outbreak, best described as THE WALKING DEAD meets Essex County.
