Cosplayers of 2026 Comicpalooza

Written by Samuel Mason White

It’s that time of year again and Comicpalooza brings out the best and most fantastical cosplayers from the greater Houston area.

Hosted at the George R. Brown Convention Center this past Memorial Day Weekend, Houstonians truly brought out their skills when it came to portraying their favorite fictional character.

In addition to panels on Cosplay, attendees could turn just about any corner and spot an amazing—and likely self-created—outfit ripped straight from the source material.

Cosplayer Jenny Garner (Instagram @cosplay_till_midnight) hosted “Cosplay vs. Physics: Making the Impossible Possible.” This discussion gave insight into what it takes to make intricate pieces that are larger than life, but also are mobile enough to take to conventions.

Garner, whose outfits range from fantasy to and anime consists of an impressive array of methods to make outfits come to life. “[On DIY Cosplay] Reality does not often align with original designs, so embracing making your own,” said Garner.

Comicpalooza is Houston’s premier pop culture event that includes celebrities, comic creators, cosplayers, and hundreds of vendors. What began with a small event in 2008 has grown into the best place for fans as more than 40,000 visitors attend annually.
